How to Create Content the Easy Way
MARKETING CONTENT
I am all about working smarter, not harder, in my life and in my business.
When it comes to creating content this is especially true. I don’t have the time (or desire) to create thousands of different pieces of unique content.
That is why today I’m breaking down my best tips for creating one piece of content that you can repurpose again and again and again!
Three Steps to Creating Content the Easy Way
Step 1: Come up with your topics
The first thing I want you to do is brainstorm a list of topics that you often get asked questions about. This is going to be the foundation of all of the content you're about to create. These questions could be specific to working with you or they could be common topics that relate to your industry.
For example, if you are a therapist your list could look like this:
Signs you are ready to start therapy
How to find the right therapist for you
What a therapy session looks like
The great thing about starting with questions you’ve been asked (and probably have been asked repeatedly!) is that you know for sure these are topics that people are interested in learning about before deciding to work with you.
Step 2: Create your original content
Next, you are going to create one long-form piece of content for each of these topics or questions. This is where I get everything about this topic out of my head and into words.
For me, this is a blog post on my website. I personally love starting with a blog post because it helps keep my website updated for SEO and allows me to directly link to the post if I get a question about it, which saves me time and drives traffic to my website. Having a post as a place to point people is even more valuable to me because it’s now a resource for my clients and website viewers, which in turn helps establish my authority as an expert.
If you don’t have a blog, your first piece of content could be a newsletter or simply a document you’ll reference later.
Step 3: Turn your long-form content into lots more content!
Once you have your long-form content on a topic you know people are interested in, you can easily repurpose the same information into ANY of your communication channels. For example, you could take your long-form content, and turn that information into any of these:
Blog Post
Newsletter topic
YouTube Video
Podcast episode
Carousel posts in Instagram
Stories in Instagram
Reels in Instagram
TikTok Videos
Pinterest images
LinkedIn post
Email opt-in freebies with exclusive info about the topic
There you go! By starting with one informative topic, you’ve now created content for every communication channel you have in order to reach new clients or to educate and connect with your existing clients! With this strategy you can easily crank out fresh content without having to start from the drawing board each time you want to post.
